ABSTRACT: Assessing the role of early childhood education in promoting ethical consumerism aims to examine how education can foster responsible consumption and sustainable lifestyles from a young age. This study investigates how early childhood education programs promote ethical consumerism. The objectives are to (1) assess improvements in children's understanding of ethical consumer practices and sustainability principles, (2) evaluate the integration of ethical consumerism activities in early childhood education curricula, and (3) examine changes in community attitudes towards ethical consumption and environmental stewardship. A survey design is employed to gather comprehensive data on educational impacts on ethical consumerism promotion. A purposive sample of 120 children aged 4-6 years, from environmentally conscious communities in Lagos State, ensures relevant experiences. The case study focuses on an early childhood education center known for its sustainability education initiatives. Findings indicated significant improvements in children's understanding of ethical consumer practices and sustainability principles, effectiveness of ethical consumerism activities, and positive changes in community attitudes towards ethical consumption. Recommendations include integrating ethical consumerism education into early childhood curricula and collaborating with businesses and local communities to promote responsible consumption habits and environmental stewardship.
